Is it wrong to bask in pride for my son having done this?

He is 2 1/2. The other day, my husband (his dad) and I were play fighting. I was trying to pull him off of the sofa, and he kept poking me or tickling me. I would scream out when he did that. Anyway, our 2 year old son went right over to his dad and began hitting him with all of his 2 year old power...yelling at him to stop hurting his Mama. I told him that daddy was not hurting me, but he would not relent until my husband literally left me alone. Inside I was gushing that my boy was standing up for his Mama (even if it was against his dad, lol) So, do you think it was wrong for me to be secretly happy about this? Do you think this means he will always have the nature to stand up for those he loves?
