Should I be having sharp pains after a D&C?

I had a D&C on Monday afternoon to remove a 'missed abortion'... I have not had many problems since. However, within the past 3 hours I have started getting extremely painful stabbing pains shooting through my abdomen. I thought maybe it was just some cramps but its worse than cramps. Im passing blood clots (not very large) and every time I get a sharp pain I have a gush of blood. Is this normal post surgery stuff or should I be concerned?
